Maison de Maitre (Main house)
On entering the groundfloor you walk into the large fully equipped open plan kitchen/sitting/dining area, housing a large original fireplace and wood stove. A beautiful oak staircase leads to the first floor. The Master bedroom with en-suite bathroom is complete with walk in shower, double sink, (possibility for bath), WC. Down the hallway, the second large bedroom also has it's own walk in shower room and leads on to a partly covered balcony with beautiful views – a perfect reading spot.

Maison d'hibout (Gite 1)
This part of the main house can operate completely independently and has been rented as a cottage for a family of 4.

Leading into the lounge and dining area where a large monumental fireplace is the feature of the room and a wood burning stove. Up the staircase to the second floor is a mezzanine currently used as a library or second bedroom with sofa bed ideal for children. Through the mezzanine leads to the main double bedroom for this gite, a bright room with skylights.
Maison de Chardonneret (Gite 2)
This detached guesthouse is ideal for 4 to 5 people. The ground floor has a neat modern kitchen, a shower room and a sitting/dining room with large fireplace with wood burning stove. The staircase leads to the first floor with master and small bedroom of which one has a washbasin and a seperate WC. A passage from the guest house leads to its own private terrace and garden area.
On the site is a large former barn shed of 6 x 20 meters with a high ceiling above the entire building on the first floor. The barn is ideal to be restored for the installation of two or three gites and has an original water well sitting beside it.
Two additional big mountain sheds are also on the grounds – one currently in use for garden equipment and the other as storage for fire wood. There is also a traditional bread oven is in its original state which dates back to the late 17th century.
The 5 x 10 metre swimming pool with extensive terraces is surrounded by gardens. The swimming pool is completely walled and is very secure. The pool also has a large built in cover for storage of the pool and garden furniture. Recently the pool's lining was completely renewed.
In the main buildings and guesthouse the roof has been renewed and insulated, the floors are part tiled and part oak parquet and a large part of the doors and shutters throughout have also been renewed. The restoration completed over a number of years has provided maintenance of traditional building features such as the electricity system, gas, water and the fosse septique.
The heating is electric throughout, with traditional wood stoves and fireplaces also for the winter. The hot water supply is via two electric boilers both large at 300 and 200 litres.
Full surface plot approx. 13,500 m2 of which about 1 ha. Pasture (mown twice a year by the local farmer). The land surrounding the property has 2 partly covered terraces and large gardens full of fruit trees and majestic old trees.

Le Recoux is situated on the hillside that surrounds the river valley. old towns, villages and lots of castles.
Le Recoux is part of the municipality of Mouzens (about 230 inhabitants) and is about 2 km away from the so-called Bourg Mouzens.
Major cities such as Perigueux and Bergerac with numerous shopping facilities are around 40 to 50 km. In the area there are more than enough shopping facilities in Siorac and St. Cyprien (3 km) and Le Bugue (10 km). The famous historic city of Sarlat is 30 km away.
